Never go out to a music equipment event with Andy Leaver. That is the lesson here.
I have an aversion to buying gear believe it or not. I procrastinate so much it drives my friends mad, including Andy.
We went one day to London to an event hosting all sorts of musical merchandise from various dealers. This is where we stumbled on the GAK stall. They had the Ibanez MM1, I love the AZ range of guitars, I love my tele Brad but I needed something like a Les Paul, a Tele and a Strat that was capable of being played fast or slow, could be Jazzy, soulfulful but go to 11 when required!
This was it, I played it, I loved it, I then procrastinated for 30 minutes before signing on the dotted line and assuring myself as the keeper of this instrument. It was to be mine!
Now that 30 minutes was a lifetime, it does not immediately appear it but I will tell you now it was. I tried many other guitars that day but nothing cames close. Marilyn is now my go-to guitar for everything live.
